Please note: these items are not required as everyone’s different, this is just a suggestion list many families have asked us to make! Keep in mind, we do send home a care package with toys, sample treats, and other items for both humans & pups!
Crate
We use and recommend a 42” wire crate. Majority of our labs fit comfortably in this size and most crates come with a divider so as your puppy grows the crate can grow with it. We recommend this Crate .
Leash & Collar
We currently use and recommend the Browning lead & collar. We love these items not only because of the stylish camo but also because of the safety reflecting stitching and the cool features they posses. Then collar has two separate loops, one being for the leash to attach to, the other being for the ID to attach to. The leash also has features such as an upper clip enabling fast and easy belt attachment or tie-off while a lower movable D-ring allows for adjustable attachment options. Browning Collar, as a puppy a size small is good up until about 3-4 months, then a size medium is sufficient for the rest of growth.
Bowls
There are many different bowls that can be used out there. We HIGHLY recommend a stainless steel/ metal bowl for your pup as plastic ones tend to cause pimples around the chin area. We personally love the yeti bowls because of their durability and non slip bottoms, and being rust proof. These are easy to throw into the dishwasher and not have to worry about melting. Harness
We strongly recommend not using a harness for walking purposes as it encourages pulling and is actually very hard on a dogs body. We recommend only using the harness in the car to help secure your dog in safely. We are a fan of the Browning harness as well.Harness, the size for the collar also applies for the size of the leash.
Car Leash
We love this cheap and effective car leash. One end goes onto the harness and the other goes around the headrest in the vehicle. Doggie Seatbelt
Food
Our puppies get weaned onto a mash that our mommas are already eating. This food is Purina Pro Plan 30/20 salmon & rice .
Cuddle Buddy
This item is a great item for puppies once they go home, its a stuffy that can go in their crate that has a heartbeat! If you’d like to purchase one and send it to us we can rub it on mom and the litter to make it that much easier on your pup! Snuggle Puppy
Crate Cover
We love this crate cover, its cute, durable, and waterproof. Crate covers are nice to conceal your eye sore of a crate, but also its a great feature to make your crate a more enclosed and safe place as it makes it more den like. Crate Cover
Gunner Kennels
As your puppy grows, especially for those of you who hunt with your dogs, many will put them in the bed of their vehicle. We highly recommend and gunner kennel. Crate Bed
Although until your puppy is potty trained, you may want to put down potty pads and steer away from a crate bed at this time, but we do recommend this bed. It’s super durable, soft, and comforting without being an overload in the crate. Crate Bed
Kong
Kong, Kong, KONG! We cannot express how much we love Kongs, they have so many shapes, sizes, colors, durability's, and puzzles to always keep your puppy or adult entertained!!! Kong
Apple Spray
We recommend the bitter apple spray, this is just a sour spray and is not harmful to your puppy or any products you spray it on. This is great to deter chewing on furniture, shoes, cords, maybe not your toes or hair, but everything else! Bitter Yuck!
Dog Diapers
If you’re getting a female puppy and are worried what to do during her heat cycle, we recommend these dog diapers!
Clicker Training
It has been found that when a puppy is training, the normal praise can be overbearing and they will forget what they were even getting praised for. We recommend clicker training. You click it as soon as they attempt or do as you ask and are rewarded with a treat! Clicker
Flying in cabin:
If your puppy is flying with you or us in cabin, this is the recommended carrier to get. This carrier is airline approved and safe & sound for travel with your loved one! Airline Approved Carrier
Flying in cargo:
If your puppy is flying in cargo, the following items will be needed. Please have these items purchased at the Tractor Supply, Oakhurst Ca location, for buy online pick up in store.
